Frequently Asked Questions

How DE Motor helps automotive OEMs enter Europe — IVA approvals, B2B distribution, warranty and aftersales.

What does DE Motor do?

DE Motor is an IVA-led, B2B-first market-entry and distribution platform for automotive OEMs. We help brands bring vehicles into Europe through individual vehicle approvals (IVA), deploy them into B2B and fleet channels, and support them with warranty and aftersales infrastructure — building real car parc before scaling toward selective retail.

What is IVA, and why does DE Motor lead with it?

IVA approves vehicles for a European market on an individual basis, rather than through full whole-vehicle type approval (WVTA). DE Motor both coordinates and performs the IVA process, letting an OEM place vehicles on the road efficiently and within applicable approval frameworks — generating early market presence, service experience and warranty data before committing to large-scale type approval and retail.

Who is DE Motor for?

Primarily automotive OEMs entering or expanding in Europe — both brands new to the region and those scaling from initial approvals toward retail. We also work with distributors, fleet and leasing operators, and dealer partners within our network.

Which markets does DE Motor cover?

DE Motor is active across seven European markets — Austria, Greece, Hungary, Croatia, Bulgaria, Cyprus and the United Kingdom — each with a dedicated profile covering registrations, electrification, taxes and incentives. We are headquartered in Limassol, Cyprus, with offices in Sofia, Athens, Budapest, Zagreb, Vienna, London and Munich.

How is DE Motor different from a homologation or certification provider?

Homologation is one piece. DE Motor combines approval coordination with the commercial and operational groundwork that follows — B2B and fleet distribution, a structured warranty program, parts and aftersales readiness, and brand-experience development — in a scalable model that grows from individual approvals toward volume type approval and selective retail. The goal isn't just an approved vehicle; it's a durable, serviceable and scalable market presence.

What does “B2B-first” mean?

Rather than starting with retail showrooms, we focus first on B2B channels — fleet, leasing, rental, corporate and institutional buyers. This puts real vehicles on the road and builds real service and warranty data, creating a foundation of credibility before selective retail expansion.

Does DE Motor provide warranty and aftersales support?

Yes. The warranty is backed by the OEM, and DE Motor acts as the pivot between our network of service shops and the manufacturer — coordinating parts and technical support so vehicles stay operational and dealers and fleet operators can buy with confidence.

How long does market entry take?

Timelines depend on the vehicle, the target markets and the approval route. For a new IVA, model certification typically takes around 6–8 weeks. Contact us with your model and target countries and we will assess the likely path.

What do you need from us to get started?

We start from an agreed framework in which the manufacturer shares all relevant documentation for each vehicle with DE Motor. From there, our technical department carries out the required adaptation work independently. Get in touch with your models, target markets and goals, and we will outline the approval route and channel strategy.
